Terms of Service & Acceptable Use
Last updated: July 22, 2026
This is a free QR code generation service. By generating a QR code with this service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Prohibited Uses
You may not use this service to generate QR codes that encode, point to, or are used for:
- Phishing, credential harvesting, impersonation of any person or organization, or any other deceptive practice (including "quishing" QR-code phishing)
- Malware, spyware, unwanted software, or drive-by downloads
- Spam, bulk unsolicited messaging, or referral/traffic fraud schemes
- Content that is illegal under applicable law, or that infringes intellectual property rights
- Linking to destinations that themselves circumvent security filters — including URL shorteners, redirectors, and tunneling/ephemeral-hosting domains, which are rejected at generation time
2. Enforcement
Destination URLs are screened at generation time against a denylist and, where enabled, Google Safe Browsing. We may block any destination domain and refuse any request — at any time, without notice, at our sole discretion. Confirmed abuse may be reported to hosting providers, registrars, and relevant authorities.
3. No Stored Data
QR codes are generated on the fly and returned directly in the response. This service does not store the content you encode, does not keep a history of generated QR codes, and does not use advertising or analytics cookies. A short-lived, per-IP request counter is kept only for rate-limiting and abuse prevention, and expires automatically.
4. Abuse Reporting
Anyone can report abuse by emailing chris@lesscrowds.org. Please include the encoded content or destination URL so we can review and act on it.
5. Disclaimer
QR codes generated by this service may encode third-party content or destinations that we do not control or endorse. The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and may be changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time.
6. Changes
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
